The first is about FR's attempt to maintain it's heritage and covers the fact that Maplecroft was almost changed.
The 2nd one is case(s) in Texas where the sex of the defendant makes a difference in the outcome.
Good stories, Audrey! The second story reminds me of "Chicago." I was in a production of it years ago and didn't realize until much later that Roxy and Velma were based on two real live dames who did get away with murder because the city of Chicago didn't like to hang women. I forget their real names; I know one died shortly after release, but the Velma character lived to attend the premiere of the first staging of "Roxy Hart." For some reason the stage and screen versions do not play up the true story angle, which I think adds quite a bit, but maybe non-Bordenites don't have the stomach for such things.

There is a BIG difference between "show business" / entertainment and "history". Only the first attracts paying customers.
Do people go to shows to think or to be entertained? Thinking hurts the brains of many people (current readers excepted).
