Ran across this small Borden site.  Has the usual number of mistakes (that's NOT Lizzie at the time of the murders) but the clarity on the photos is pretty good.

Thanks, Harry, cute little site.  I especially like the joke about the famous last words.

In photo, "Borden 1", look at Abby's feet.
They seem to be slanted to the side, toe of shoes pointing left?

I wonder if Lizzie whacked her for the "fat ass" comment or because she didn't get Lizzie's name right?   "For the millionth time, Mrs. Borden, it's not 'Elizabeth'!  It's LIZZIE!!"

The person who set this site up has a good sense of humor. In addition to the shot at Miss Lizzie's posterior note how he labeled the photos..Dad and Mom.

I can just hear Lizzie..."She's not my MOM! She's my Step-mom."

Firewood on a very hot August morning? I think not.

The article failed to say "the real killers) were never found.

Are you saying the body was moved to provide a better camera shot, or what? (It looked fuzzy to me.) Or maybe the beginning of rigor mortis caused the leg to retract? Does is begin in the outer limbs?

about the clarity of the photos, as you mention.

yes, that's obviously THE reason to look at this.  i'm not sure i understand the explanation for the improved quality, though,  they wouldn't be different originals, would they?

Most, if not all, of what we see on the internet are copies of copies of copies. Lord knows how many generations removed from the originals. These look like not too many.

The FR Historical Society sells prints of the originals which are said to be crystal clear.  I have no idea what the current prices are though.

William, we could use your knowledge here.

I did a blow-up of the Andrew photo and will post it in the Privy if anyone wants it. Let me know.

Is it a scan of the original?  Yes, I'd love to see it, Harry.

No, it's an enlargement of the photo on the mini site slightly enhanced.

I'll post it to the Privy.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
Does it look like her feet are pointing away rather than toe-to-rug?
Can anybody tell?
I'd really appreciate an answer...

Are there tools in Photo Editing software that will clear up fuzzy lines? Would this work?

Harry, when I contacted the FRHS two years ago, they provided me with a listing of the Borden photographs they had for sale.  At that time they were charging twelve dollars per print (5x7) plus shipping.

Some of the best pictures I've ever seen were in the book, "Shots in the Dark," (True Crime Pictures). They have four of the Borden pictures that can be scanned to produce very good 8x10 photographs.

Theres a few of those I've never seen, would be great to get a look at Mrs. Churchill's house from the front, even if it is just the steps.

I think some of these are Walsh, which are in the Knowlton Papers.
I think the one of the locks on the front door might be Phillips?
One or some of these, I believe are drawings- those raised views of the immediate neighborhood.

The last I heard, they were going sepia and ordering prints from R.I.?
