Dear all, Harry Widdows has graciously consented to allow
me to post the complete trial of Lizzie Borden on my website
for you to download in .pdf format! I created the .pdfs
and Harry did the rest---an enormous undertaking!!!
Three cheers for Harry!

What is the origin of this? From a secondary source, or?

The "source" of the trial is the trial transcript
itself. Harry Widdows typed the entire trial, and proofread
the entire typing. It took him 8 months to produce. He
created it in WordPad and I converted it to MS Word and
then made the PDF file for downloading with his permission.

That's just great. I hope someone proof-read this.
Why not use a scanner for more reliability?
I remember reading this was available for down-loading
back on the original site.

The actual pages of the trial are in a poor condition,
lots of scratches and such from the microfilm copy. Scanning
of such a document would prove impossible and would in
fact create more problems than it would be worth---too
much correcting.
Harry proof read his work and this issue of the trial
is that later edition, proofread with corrections. Harry
had offered it to anyone on the LBMB in August with the
corrected edition offered after the proofreading was complete.
Voila! the history of the trial of typing the trial!
