During the 1893 trial, Lizzie was held at the New Bedford Ash Street jail. This article covers the jail as it is today. What is interesting in the photo gallery on page 2.
Check the top right photograph named "jaildoc2.jpg". I wonder if 3517 was her jail number or just an admission number.

That name under Lizzie's seemed familiar: McGurk.
Turns out, with a different spelling, a Mrs. "McGUIRK" did the *interview* with Lizzie in Taunton jail.
