Here's something I don't understand:
If Abraham deeded the Ferry Street property to Andrew
in Feb., 1854, 4 months after Phebe Davenport dies (Andrew's
mother), why then does Andrew BUY LURANA'S 1/3 share in
the same property in August, 1883, after the death
of the step-mother BeBe? (Rebello. page 28)
"August 1, 1893....Equal distributions went to BeBe...Andrew...and
Lurana (Harrington) sold her share of the Ferry Street
home to her brother, Andrew..."*
Page 6, "Note": BeBe left an estate of
"approx. $2400 to her brothers, Ephraim and Ferdinand,
and several nieces and nephews..."
*The equal distribution of Abraham's estate = $1,960.00
x3 people.
BeBe died leaving $2400, $1960 of which could be her share
of the property...difference of $440 private possessions?

Rebello. page 318:
FALL RIVER HERALD, Feb.24, 1926: 4
"Personals: Miss Lizbeth A. Borden, 306 French
Street, is ill at the Truesdale (Hospital). It is
understood that Miss Borden was operated on ABOUT 3 WEEKS
AGO and that she is well on the way of convalescence."
That would make it about Feb. 3 or 4, which IS soon upon
us...

Rebello, page 361:
"Edwin H. Porter died at his home in Fall River on
Sunday, February 18, 1904. He was thirty-nine years
old..."
-one source listed is "Death Records, City Clerk's
Office."

Rebello, page 308, Profile of Nance O'Neil:
as added information, she died at The Actors Fund Home
in Englewood, at the age of 90...had lived until age 89
in Manhattan at 145 West 55th Street...

Could it be that something else happened
between 1854 and 1883? To the property I mean.
Could it be that Lurana had either been given or purchased
1/3 of the house in between these dates?
I agree with you confusion. Why would Andrew buy something
he already owned?

So far, what comes to sight, after comparing
the TEXT of Rebello, to what is contained in the Appendix,
there are a few discrepencies that I alone cannot reconcile:
Appendix C, pg. 554, land transactions &
Appendix H. pg. 593, date of Porter's death.
So now I have to ask: Laurie, what are your sources?
