1. "Lizzie's Gall Bladder operation"

On February 24, 1926 Lizzie entered the hospital for her Gall bladder. Reportedly, she was a difficult patient, among other things, she refused to use a bed pan. Her favorite foods, including orange sherbet were delivered to her room from a Providence restaurant. After several weeks she returned to Maplecroft, but her health slowly deteriorated. She lost weight, her hair, once a beautiful reddish brown, turned gray. And on June 1, 1927 at the age of 66 Lizzie Borden died of heart disease.
