On July 18, 1892, the day before Lizzie's 32nd birthday, Andrew bought back the Ferry street house from Lizzie and Emma for $5,000. (Worth about $90,000 in today's dollars).  I wish I had had such a skinflint of a father!

I wonder if Abby protested this buy back of the property which was GIVEN to the "girls" and Lizzie really got ticked off at her interference.
This was only 17 days before the tragedy and may have sent her over the edge.

I also wonder if the buy back was in any way related to her birthday and Emma's share having to be bought back to keep both of them happy.

Once again, we come upon the cunnundrum of the discrepencies between Rebello's Appendix and what is in his Text.

Appendix C, page 556, states the land deal date as July 18th---
But in the body of work, page 28, it is stated as July 15th, 1892.

You're right though, it is near Lizzie's birthday. 

In the Inquest Lizzie, pg. 48, distances the land transfer from the time of the murders.  You can just bet she KNEW the correct date that she came into that money!

A:...he bought that back from us some weeks ago.  I don't know just how many.
Q: As near as you can tell
A: Well, I should say in June, but I am not sure.
