First we had a 1889 newspaper relating the Borden murders. That was just a typo the seller told me.

Now this book, printed in 1940, is signed by Lizzie? The heading of the item is the only place Lizzie is mentioned. I don't see any connection with her at all. Or is there just a mention of Lizzie in the book somewhere.

This doesn't make any sense.
It didn't sell, either, did it?

The book is by Early and signed by her. There is a chapter on Lizzie in it, according to my bibliography:

Early, Eleanor. "Did Lizzie Do It?" A New England Sampler. Boston: Waverly House, 1940. 230-253.
Early believes that Lizzie committed the double murder for which she was accused and offers an article on the case full of rumor, gossip, innuendo, and unkind comments on Lizzie's weight and appearance.

The price was ok at $14 but shipping at $6??? Geesh. Where do sellers get off boosting the price by adding handling fees. Highway robbery to me. That book should cost no more that two dollars to mail, and add a buck for insurance if you want. I think sellers add in their ebay fees into the shipping. I simply won't buy if the shipping is outrageous. Why am I going on and on about this?

Thanks Stefani.  I should have checked there first.

I just get suspicious when they mention Lizzie in passing like that. Her name is used so often to sell an item which may or may not be connected with her.

Right now on eBay there is a watering can for sale made in Fall River. Naturally it refers to the town of Lizzie Borden.

There is also a guy selling sports memorabelia ( that does not look spelled right) who says in his long auctions that he also has Lizzie Borden items for sale so go take a look at his other auctions. Well, he doesn't have Lizzie Borden items for sale, at least not any more. SO his many sports auctions keep popping up in a search for Lizzie stuff. A bit frustrating, but not as stupid as the watering can!!!

PS: that is what is so great about this forum. You can ask and you shall receive!

Stefani:
There are several "New England Sampler" books being offered for sale by book sellers at this time.  A few have Eleanor Early's autograph.
