Does anyone have this video and is it any good and if you think it is good would anyone care to let me borrow it? (how's that for a runon sentence!)

It's a must-have.  It's like watching your Borden-loaded brain on TV - the first time I saw it, I got teary.  It gives you a feeling of what the Centennial Conference must've been like and it also contains remarks by the late, great Florence Brigham - how could you pass THAT up?  I think it's still available through the FRHS.  When it aired on PBS it was slightly edited (the clip from de Mille's FALL RIVER LEGEND was omitted, probably a royalty issue).

I have a copy...which I bought on EBay...where else?  Bought from "Phaye" on the West Coast...she knows Lenny Rebello...in addition to the video tape she sent me a load of freebies.

Pictures of Lizzie at different ages, a facsimile of the Trial transcripts (her Vol. VII of a X Vol. set)...a map of Fall River and a few other items.

I have viewed the video and find it somewhat enlightening but there is nothing earth shattering or "new".  I was entertained by two of the 28 people interviewed.

The first was Muriel Arnold who wrote "The Hands of Time" she is truly a Fall River Yankee, her dialect, her language, her mannerisms she is without doubt a native.  She recently offered her book on EBay but I thought the starting price was too high.

I emailed her and asked if she is "THE" Muriel Arnold and after a week I got a reply.  Yes, she said, she was "THE" one, she went one to apologize that the book had such a high starting price but she was acting on advise of a "friend".  She told me that she had just sold the book to the only bidder for less then he bid...pshaw!!!

I did ask if she had other copies for sell for the same "low price" but I have yet to hear back from her.  I think she isn't as computer savvy so she may not know she's "Got Mail".

The other interesting video performer is Dr. Jules Ryckebusch of BCC and moderator of the 1992 Conference.  As the good Dr. makes his verbal presentation he clearly makes a serious mistake coming from an "expert" of Bordenism.  He looks at his watch and says,(not verbatum) 'it's now 10:45 am and Andrew Borden is having his head bashed in.  The entire right (sic) side is destroyed'.

Yes he actually says RIGHT side and even motions with is left hand held in a "hatchet" formation (similar to the Braves, tomahawk movement by their fans) on the RIGHT side of his own head.  This was hard to believe that an "expert" would faulter...back to the books for Dr. Ryckebusch.

PS: Stefani, if you wish I can ship you my copy for your perusal.  Let me know.

the contents.

The quality of the copy is not important to me, Bobcook, so if you want to pass one my way, I would greatly appreciate it. Or, if you want to send me yours, I will view it immediately and dash it back to you.

If anyonlast minute (sniper), so I emailed her to ask if she had any more copies.  She said she does have some and that she had actually sold the eBay book to the high bidder for less than I had bid!!!  She quoted me a price, but failed to include postage, so I emailed her again.  Still haven't heard from her.  She may be like a friend of mine, who told me the other day that she's now on the Internet.  I said, "Give me your email address so I can get in touch with you."  She responded, "Oh, no, don't send me any email.  I haven't learned how to open it yet."
As nontechnical as I am, I offered to go over to her house and give her a tutorial on opening email!  I think I'm just going to send Ms. Arnold the price she asked and let her worry about the postage.  However, I may never get the book.

I am with you Kat...that post was wicked spookie..even more spooky then two Virgos in the same room....oooooowwwwwwwww.  Anyhow Edisto I did the EXACT same thing as you...I saw the bidders handle (yours) and I didn't bid on it...I didn't want to trump over another member of our "house"...but in the end Ms. Arnold did the same to me...go figure.

I am still waiting to her from her as well.

STEFANI: email your mailing address and I will ship the tape out. Keep it as long as necessary...Bob Cook

PSS: in response to an email I recieved from a fellow Bordenite regarding my above comment about Jules R. making the "slip".  I have just watched my copy of the video again and he clearly says "Right side of head" and he motions with his LEFT hand/arm in a hatchet manner and says the "right eye is hanging out".  This one goes over me for sure.  He is holding a paper cup (maybe of coffee) in his RIGHT hand so maybe, just maybe in this copy he made the Freudian slip.
