Look, a new book.

The auction reads:


"Lizzie Borden signed book titled "THE GREAT LEADERS AND NATIONAL ISSUES OF 1912" copywrite 1912 by L.T.Myers. The book is a hard cover 320 pages with Lizzies hand signature on the top of the first blank page. The book is in very good condition. COA reads "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY-THIS CERTIFIES THIS ARTIFACT IS FROM THE LIZZIE BORDEN COLLECTION-GEORGE E. QUIGLEY, PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL LIZZIE BORDEN ASSOCIATION CURATOR OF MAPLECROFT & THE LIZZIE BORDEN MUSEUM 1995-2000, AUTHOR, EDUCATOR, LECTURER-DATE AUGUST 4, 1999-GEORGE E QUIGLEY-IT IS SIGNED L.A.BORDEN AS SHE CUSTOMARILY DID. THE GREAT LEADERS AND NATIONAL ISSUES OF 1912 WITH THIRTY TWO ILLUSTRATIONS COPYWRITED IN 1912 BY L.T.MYERS. IT WAS AQUIRED FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE HALL FAMILY OF PORTSMOUTH, RHODE ISLAND. LIZZIE VISITED MRS HALL OFTEN AND ALWAYS BROUGHT A GIFT AS DID MRS HALL WHEN SHE VISITED MAPLECROFT, LIZZIES HOME IN FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS. ACCORDING TO MRS HALL'S GRANDSON, THEY BOTH BORROWED BOOKS FROM EACH OTHER. LIZZIE AND MRS HALL WOULD GO FISHING ON THE NEARBY PONDS OR GO TO ISLAND PARK FOR SALT WATER FISHING. LIZZIE TOOK THE TROLLEY FROM FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS THROUGH ISLAND PARK IN PORTSMOUTH TO THE TROLLEY STATION NEAR THE HILL WHERE SHE WOULD BE PICKED UP BY MR. HALL IN HIS WAGON TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE FAMILY HOME ON BRISTOL FERRY ROAD". Please ask any questions. Buyer pays $5.15 shipping plus insrance if desired."

In response to Message #1.

This must have been Lizzie's intellectual period.

The other book was titled "Germany and England" by J.A. Cramb, dated 1914. That book was described as:

"An analysis of the relationship between England and Germany and the entangling alliances that led to the outbreak of WW I originally published in Europe 15 months "before" the outbreak of hostilities."

Copies of both books are available at Bookfinders.com. Of course without Miss Lizzie's signature.
