1. "Butte, Montana: Ireland's Fifth
Province"

No wonder Bridget moved to Montana!
In a modern city of less than 40,000, more than a hundred
years later you can still find hundreds of Irish surnames
in the local phone book - about 100 Sullivan families, 43
listings for Sheas, and 32 O'Neills.
Members of 77 different families of Sullivans left Castletownbere
in Cork for Butte, which explains why in 1908 there were 1,200
Sullivans in Butte.

And should anyone need a new place for vacation
try this
1880`s Dude Ranch in Anaconda. I didn't know they still had
them!

Last night I ran across an old LBQ article
by George Quigley. In it, he shows that various official
documents, including Bridget's tombstone (which may or may
not be an official document) show nine different birth dates
for her. That and the huge number of Sullivans living
in the U. S. always make me wonder if the Bridget employed
by the Bordens is the same Bridget Sullivan who's buried in
Montana. This doesn't even consider the fact that O'Sullivan
is essentially the same name as Sullivan, adding even more
to the list.

I started browsing for Bridgets a little while
ago &
most of the Sullivans that came up were O`Sullivans. I
was looking for graveyards & ended up in Montana &
thought
there might be something about her, but I still haven't
found her.
