If you are interested in the Fall River Line
ships this looks like a great book for sale on eBay.
Starting bid is $24.99. I'm not the seller.
"BOOKLET - DATED 1902 entitled:
"80 PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF THE FALL RIVER LINE
VIEWS OF FALL RIVER, EAST AND NORTH RIVERS, LONG ISLAND SOUND,
AND NEWPORT"

Oh! That was SO cool!
I think our uncle was at the Navy yard at some point.
He is pushing 75 or so and I can send him these NY photos!
Thanks

Here are two more books about the Fall River
Line. I recently searched the on-line catalog of the Connecticut
public libraries looking for them but without much luck.
Floating Palaces: New England to New York on the Old Fall
River Line, by Roger Williams McAdam, Mowbray Co., c. 1972
Splendor Sailed the Sound: The New Haven Railroad and the
Fall River Line, by George H. Foster, Potentials Group; Mid-State
Associates, c. 1989, ISBN 0962467405

OH! That sounds so sumptious!
Big fancy ships and private RR cars! I'd love to tour
either of those. They sure knew how to travel back then.
Seems romantic!
