Call me Andrew, but I wouldn't spend good money on those dolls.  Why don't they make a doll that at least looks like Lizzie?  Then I still wouldn't spend good money on those dolls.

They are hideous looking...they don't even come close to looking like our little Lizzie...and to think there is one of those replusive units sitting in the bookcase in Lizzie's room right now at 92 Second Street...next to her collection of personal favorite books...yech.

I'm new here, "membership-wise".  Been reading & enjoying the posts for some time, just haven't had much to say.

Forgive me Lizzie-ites, but I bought the doll some months ago, before the price went up to $45.  I just thought she was 'goulishly
hee-larious'.

If I had $45 I'd buy one!

Good to meet 'cha, zoe.
Sometime if you feel like it you might want to introduce yourself on the "39 & Counting" Topic...

Don't feel you HAVE to... It's certainly not mandatory.  Just curious...kk

I just saw some of these scary dolls in Tower records, no Lizzies though.  The shadowing around the eyes is soooooo poorly done, it looks like a child applied it.  It should have been more blended and soft towards the edge instead of all streaky like it was!  They had Lillith, Adam's first wife, twin girls, don't know what they were about, and one who looked like a schoolgirl.  Very weird things these dolls!

I also have one of these dolls. I purchased one just after it was released. I LOVE her... I was thrilled to see that The B&B has one on display... I have seen the doll on Ebay.. some other stores are selling the doll for $80 plus...A small key chain is coming out as well...

Do you think they are all the same doll, or do you think some newer ones are made elsewhere or by others than yours?  (Especially if you have one of the first ones)

Who will be selling the keychain?

Hi Kat.... I e-mailed the creator of the Living Dead Dolls... and he told me the Lizzie Dolls are all the same. They have been very popular and the stores can not keep them in stock.

The keychains should be out shortly... I buy the dolls & acc... at Tower Records, of all places... They also sell them at Spencers & Hot Topic... I have two of the other little dead doll key chains and they are "cute"...If you need help in finding the key chains, by all means let me know...

Is there a picture of the key chains anywhere?

Do you have any other "dead Dolls" in your collection?

Yes, I do... I have 12 of the large dolls and three minis, as they are called... and also four of the doll keychains. I believe the Lizzie key chain will look exactly like the large doll...I will search and see if I can find a picture of the keychain.

My collection started with the Lizzie doll. I never heard of these dolls until then...

This site seems to have a bunch of what are called "OOAK" Living Dead Dolls.  That's when somebody repaints and reaccessorizes the doll to make it different and "unique."  It seems to be the current trend in dolls.  Some of the ones I've seen that are made from modern fashion dolls are quite striking.  I deal in antiques, so I wouldn't dream of defacing one by doing that to it, but it's an interesting idea.

Please don't go, LizzieB77!  I have been reading your posts, I just don't always respond to everything.  Because of you, I have visited the Living Dead dolls website and found it fascinating that the dolls were created by 2 guys!  So, I find it interesting to hear more of these dolls.

Have you visted the rest of the forum?  Read the other posts?  Anything to add or ask questions about?  Is this how you got interested in Lizzie Borden in the first place through the doll or was it a book, or the Legend of Lizzie Borden movie?

I am caught up in Halloween.
I've bought my candy.
I've gathered my clip art.
I visited the Halloween Horror Nights Web-Site.
I actually Interviewed my Air conditioning repair man on his visit there...following him around asking questions about it.
You said it was a Halloween Expo.
I pictured doll enthusists using that excuse to wear a costume.   (I guess that might be something I would do..)
I was not being facetious, if it's me you're upset at.
I ask a lot of questions of people who have a dedicated interest in things I know nothing about.
But enough about me.  If I hurt your feelings I am sorry, and confused.

Gee, I'm confused too.  I thought this topic had generated quite a bit of interest -- certainly more than some of the topics I've started.
I ran into somebody on another board the other day who thought a message board worked like a chat room -- that feedback would be immediately forthcoming.  I wonder if that's the problem here.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I never expect to get a response to what I post, although sometimes I'm happy to see that I do get one.

sold for $202.50, I'm going to keep my eye out for one,
I've never seen them around here. Small town, you know.

Well, we know what outfits we would have to include with our Lizzie doll already, the Bedford cord, the Bengaline, and a pink and white stripe wrapper.

Y'know, I've noticed that an existing doll can be found that resembles almost anyone you could name, especially females, since most dolls are patterned after females.  There's probably one that looks like Lizzie out there somewhere.  You might have to change the haircolor (easy to do with dolls).  Working with a small-scale item like a doll, it might be fairly simple to actually print some fabric to look like the Bedford cord and make up a miniature dress from what specifications we have.  I envision the bengaline outfit as having a woven, self-color design, and possibly only on the blouse, because nobody talked much about the "figure" in that fabric as they do about the design on the Bedford cord.  (Dr. Bowen described it in court as if it were a solid color.)  The fabric of that pink wrapper was really complicated!  It would be the difficult one to duplicate, although we do have an excellent description.

What about the hair color? What should it be? I
vote for red. It seems like it suits her. And, are the eyes
blue or gray? I like that the LDD Lizzie had her hair in
the curly bangs, but what did it look like it the back?
And her accessories could include a slop pail full of bloody
rags & the axe hidden under them.

Here you go, Stefani, one headless pigeon coming up!

Just in case you're wondering, the bird is not really headless, its a breed of pigeon called Bokhara and it appears to be headless.

Exactly!!!  That overly enthusiastic type of voice, it sounds like every word they speak is in CAPITALS!!!  Think back to toy commercials from the late sixties, early seventies.  You'd have their spiel stuck in your head for the rest of the day, which I guess is the whole idea behind advertising.    The Moulie and Pocket Fisherman, oh, and don't forget Ginzu Knives!

69. "Re: A Lizzie Doll We Missed"

"The Moulie Drawer" became a big joke in our house.  We had lived here at least 10 years by the time of those commercials, and we had really settled in.  With 5 family members remaining there never was an extra drawer, unless we bought a new piece of furniture.
When our youngest brother married and bought a house, we all went over to see it.
The first thing I did was go to the kitchen, pull out an EMPTY drawer and said" OH!  LOOK you have a MOULIE drawer!"
