(I wouldn't dare post this elsewhere, for fear it might be misconstrued, kind of like Lizzie's letter that supposedly said she was bringing her sharp new axe to Marion with her.)

Last night I was watching a comedy show on TV, and they used a lot of clips from old stand-up acts.  One was Lily Tomlin in earlier days.  I think this is funny and also kind of deep (as she often is):

"Why is it that when I talk to God it's called 'prayer,' and
when God talks to me it's called 'schizophrenia'?"

Thanks for the quote, Edisto!
Lily Tomlin is incredible.
I go through phases liking her...sometimes I forget all about her and then she pops up, COOL, all over again!  Well, she's popped up cool, again...this time on WEST WING.  She's had 2 or 3 shows so far...one at the end of last season, and I think the first 2 this season.  It took that many shows for the President to HIRE her, she was so outrageous!
She is absolutely fantastic, in that understated way she has.  I look foreward now to her new role, much more than any other part of the show!
Maybe next year a "West Wing" Emmy will be HERS!

I was watching some news just now and they were doing a story on Jack LaLane at 88.  He is still exercising and looking great!

But get this...his wife's name is..."ELAINE LaLANE."

Elaine Lalane! What a tongue twister, good exercise! (reminds me of a woman named Dorothy who wanted her own URL and called it Dotty.com)

Speaking of funny names, I read in Rebello the other night (page 69) that the maiden name of Dr. Bowen's mother was "Leafa Clafflin."  Another tongue-twister!  My favorite name from the Borden case is "Selecta Bee."  (Or Choosa Wasp.) Ms. Bee was a niece of John V. Morse, who benefitted from his estate, though not specifically named in his will (Rebello, pages 73-74).  Ms. Bee is mentioned several times in Rebello, but her name doesn't appear in the index or in the "Compilation of Names" section.  What else is new?

In our "GRAY" family tree, we have a
"Rebecca" who maried a Mr. Beck = Rebecca Beck

and a male named
GREEN GRAY.

We had a Viola who married a "Chubb"
and named her daughter "Cheerful Chubb".

Oh my!  What could they have been thinking?  Cheerful Chubb?  Of course we can't forget Mr. Porter the reporter!

That's a good one Susan

While not funny, I thought that Dr. Bowen's first name was totally odd.

Seabury. Bury at sea?

His name always reminds me of that gum, I don't even know if they still make it; Teaberry?  Does anyone remember it?  I think they also made that Blackjack gum.

Found a new favorite funny name.
A guy wrote Knowlton from Ark., and he was a conductor on the St. Louis Iron Mountain RR.
He had the same last name and his mother's maiden name had been Borden, so he was very interested in the case and asked Knowlton to send him the newspapers!
Anyway, he has a brother named:
TA-DA!

MOLTYN KNOWLTON
