That was odd. I tried it and clicked done and got a white web page and nothing happened. What do you suppose it is for? It is sort of interesting but very strange too.

Here is the link to the Java Script that was used to create the site.

I did notice there is no hot link to email the creator of the site Harry found. Just the email address listed.

I tried it and typed in the sentence given; it tells you how fast you typed it and if there were any mistakes. What in the hell it has to do with Lizzie is beyond me.

I notice the first link Harry gives incorporates the words:
" on the road a rooni."

Like people driving cross country trying to amuse themselves by thinking up weird "games".

Anyway, there are several "Lizzie Borden"'s, are there not?

A Wrestler?
A Film Director?
A Musician?
A Rock Group?

Yesterday when I took the test and it didn't work,  I think it was a different phrase. Today the test was to type "Although dismembering your enemies is illegal, mutilating voodoo dolls is both legal and socially acceptable."

The test worked today. I am getting to like this person's sense of humor.

When I took the typing test all the sentences were about Lizzie and the crime.  It was depressing to see my typing scores, however.

I used to type on-air copy for a local television newsroom.  We typed right up to the deadline -- you'd sometimes get something off the teletype literally minutes before air-time -- so you had to be fast, and it had to be totally accurate or you definitely heard about it from the announcers! I've really lost my touch.

One word for my scores on the typing test: ABYSSMAL (did much better with the vocbulary test though)

One of my former bosses told me she really missed me as a secretary.  The person who applied to replace me said she had experience as a "proffreader."  Personally, I have always thought of myself as a gramarrion.  Do you ever read the listings on eBay?  One phrase I see over and over is "in tact," as in "the whole thing is in tact."  What in hell is a "tact?"

Who knows, but there are a heck of a lot of things in it. (Can one go to school to be a proffreader? Does it include the reading of professors or something? Stef? Have you been proffread lately?)
Also, is it correct to say that when two people disagree, they are "conflicted" ? I hear it occasionally and it makes the hair on the back of my neck rise.

The test now has three levels. Level three's quote is this:
If Lizzie Borden had managed to throw off the stigma of having been a suspected murderer, tried to lose a little weight and worn anything halfway sexy now and then, I am sure she would have eventually found a nice husband and become a wonderful example of an all-American housewife.

Level one is this:
"There is always the temptation to solve nagging domestic problems by discretely murdering a relative."

Oh, I had 44 wpm.
