1. "Ward Weaver and the Oregon murders"

Just heard the strangest thing on MSNBC. Ward Weaver is the guy who is a suspect in the killing of those two teens who lived in the same apartment complex in Portland, Oregon. His son turned him into police after Ward raped the son's girlfriend. The son told police his father confessed to him that he killed the two girls and buried them beneath a slab of concrete in his back yard. The authorities are currently digging up his yard and have found "some human remains" there.

Now here is the REALLY weird part: 16 years ago Ward Weaver's dad killed two girls and buried them in his yard and poured a slab of concrete over them. Ward Weaver's father is still in prison for the crimes. He was caught because his son, Ward, turned him into police and told them he confessed to the crimes to him.

Now that sounds like an urban legend. I really did just  hear it on MSNBC.

When I first looked at the title of this post my mind registered it as "Ward Cleaver".  Wasn't that the Beaver's father?

Don't mean to sidetrack the post.

Aha!  Now I know why the name "Ward Weaver" sounded so familiar.  Thank Heaven it isn't one of my old boyfriends!

It's funny, Harry, but this household had the very same reaction to the name! When the news people say his name, it often sounds exactly like Ward Cleaver.

Ward Cleaver would never do such a thing!

Oh update: they positively confirmed one of the remains belongs to the second girl that went missing. They are testing the other remains now. One was under the slab of concrete that was laid 5 months ago and one was in the shed. sick sick sick.

Just WHAT exactly DID Ward Cleaver do?
