Just as a matter of interest.  How many people have their January LBQ at this point?

One vote NO.  The mail for today hasn't come yet so I'm hoping.

20 minutes later...mail just came.  Still no LBQ.  Drat!

Nope, they haven't reached Northern Virginia yet.  Last week we had another brief anthrax scare here.  (Turned out to be nothing.)  I hold my breath when that happens, because it really screws up the mail.

Yes, I guess having Anthrax in your mail would screw things up and you probably should hold your breath whilst opening it.    Sorry, Eidsto, I know its no laughing matter, it was just your wording at the end of your post that caught me and made me laugh.

I haven't got my LBQ, but then, I haven't subscribed.......yet.

So far that leaves Massachusetts (BobcookBobcook) and CANADA as having recieved it!
Talk about "Trickle -down Theory!"
Oregon should be next?

Bob Cook's post saying had had received his is dated the 11th. Wonder what the snag is.

Maybe a large crowd of people followed the person bringing the mail to the post office and he had to retreat with our issues.

Didn't get it here in Ironwood, MI...the western part of the UP...where the windchill this morning was
-30, temp was -10, and the dog froze to a post when he tried to pee. Snowfall so far this winter is 94.2 inches. Eat your heart out Kat and Stef, cuz you just may get this weather any day now.

Well, well I too wonder what's up with this "snail mail" deal??  As reported in another thread I did recieve my LBQ around the 11th.  In fact I was about to sit down are re-read it so as to make comments about at least one of the articles.

However; given this new factual info visa vie only a select segment of our Borden Household have recieved this quarters copy I may have to refrain from comment.  Regarding this issue that is.

Speaking of the LBQ, I recently purchased a copy of Agnes de Mille's "A Dance of Death" from a chap in nearby Providence via Ebay.  One of my favorite shopping centers.  Included with the text book, which is in not too bad of shape, the seller included an item he considered a "token" for having waited so long for his mailing, an orginal copy of THE very FIRST LBQ Newsletter.

Yes indeed a near virgin copy, it had actually been mailed to it's original owner, date January 1993 Volume 1, Number 1.  It was shipped in a plastic sleeve which will keep it nice and crisp.  As I read over it I will report the contents as some of the articles, few that they are, are quite amusing.

And as always....that's my story and I'm stickin' to it....

Wow.  That was good luck.

Vol I, #3 is selling for $15.
No copies avaiable of Vol.1, #1, anymore.
If you paid less than 15 for your deMille, you got a deal all round.

Hi Joe!!!
Hi BobcookBobcook!!!

We had a very cold 3 days.  About 38 here at night...Ocala area, North- freezing.  Days were no higher than 55 or so.  That's C O L D here.  The Oranges love it tho, it's supposed to do this, to sweeten the crop.
It will warm up now. for a while.

They were talking on the local news/weather about the last time it snowed here and Tom Terry got it not quite right.  So I wrote in because I remembered the 2 OfficiaL times it snowed, and so must others, because he finally looked it up and verified it and proclaimed 2 nights ago that it had truly snowed here in 1977...which is correct...but he left out the snow of 1966.

I used to say "It snows here every 11 years"...that's how I remembered.  BUT, it snowed at MY house, unofficially I guess, around 1990 to 92.  (That "blew" the 11 year theory)

WHAT?!?!?!?!??? Snow in sunny F-L-A??  I am I glad I went there when I did.  Rain I can handle but snow in Flordia...no way.

HI KAT!

I am ashamed to say it but I paid only about $13.00 (which included shipping) for the de Mille book.  I can't even think of selling this copy of Volume 1, Number 1.  It's too valuable to me.

Hooray! My LBQ came today.

Just in time.  It's bitter cold here in the upstate of S.C. and we had 3 to 6" of snow last night and it's beginning to turn to ice. So I'll curl up with my LBQ and do some reading.

Harry is ALWAYS last!
That is odd!

Maybe King's Holiday delayed everything longer than usual.

Btw:  I saw a tiny bit of Falls Church on J A G the other night.  I might have seen more but I don't watch that show.

Gee, I wish I'd known we were on TV, and I would have watched.  Falls Church isn't so much a place as a state of mind.  It has really just beome another suburb of DC.  I did finally get my LBQ!  It arrived about 4:00 P. M. today (January 24).  That's quite a gap, since somebody had received one by the 11th, as I recall.  I was getting ready to send out a search party.

No snow or anything of importance going on here to distract the mailman in Oregon except for lots of rain.  Got my LBQ on Jan. 21st and discovered I now live in Maine.

(Answering my own posts again...) Congratulations to several of our posters here who got a nice mention (or something published) in the new LBQ.  That would be Carol and Stef and Harry, if I counted right. Any more?
