Hello-
I am new to this list.
I am in the performing arts, and have
been touring a one-woman show about
Lizzie. Having been fascinated with
this lady for 40+ years, this has
been a blast! I look forward to
reading all your messages.

It's entitled:

"Miss Lizzie A. Borden Invites You for Tea",
written by award winning playwright
Marjorie Conn. It is 21 years after the
murders and Lizzie is talking about them,
in graphic detail. Wonderful one woman show.
It has been published in Marj's recent book-
"Lost Lesbian Lives".

It is audience interactive, I actually serve
the audience tea and walk and sit amongst them.

Had to do a lot of research, and even spent the
night in the Bordon home that is now a bed and
breakfast/museum. I stayed in the upstairs
bedroom, the John Morse room, where Abby met her
maker.

I entered it in a state theatre competition and
won an award. Must be advertised as being for
mature audiences (it is *wonderfully, terribly
graphic*, and Lizzie also talks about her affair
with Nance O'Neil.

I thought I knew a lot about Lizbeth, but this
play has made her near and dear. After the way she
was raised, and the things that Andrew did to those
two girls, shudder. . . shudder.

If you don't already have it, I recommend the most
complete reference book out today about her:
Lizzie Borden
Past & Present

A Comprehensive Reference to the Life and Times
of Lizzie Borden

by Leonard Rebello  (I have an autographed copy)

Al-Zach Press, Fall River, MA
642 pgs.    $50.00

You can get this at the Borden Bed/Breakfast/Museum.

I'll try to send some pictures.

Thanks for all the info, Artslady.  The photo didn't show though.  It sounds like a really interesting night at the theatre!

Artslady -- I came across yr interview while looking on the website & thought I'd take the liberty of posting the link here for those who wish to read it.

I really enjoyed the interview & hope some day I'll manage to see a performance.

I was amused that you include mention of Lizzie taking a bath in Europe.  Coincidentally, 1 of my short stories on the site opens with Lizzie enjoying a soak at an Italian pensione.

Best wishes for continued success!

Thanks, Tina-Kate.  I knew that what Artslady had written sounded familiar.  How cool.

Is artslady Marj. Conn?
She doesn't refer to herself as Marj, she referred to another as Marj, didn't she?

Post #4:
"It has been published in Marj's recent book-
'Lost Lesbian Lives' ".
