Charlie Crowel has put together a rather interesting site related to all manner of axe-hatchet murders, culled from his most interesting archive of newspaper articles relating to crime.
I invite you pay it a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Cool site, Stefani! I like the story
about the guy who was hacked with an axe by his young Irish
housekeeper. Hmmm.....any similarities to the Borden
murders?

The totally weird one to me was the guy who tried to commit suicide by slashing his throat but the blade was too dull so he used the hatchet to pound the knife into his throat. That guy really wanted to die. Why didn't he think to cut his wrists?

Oh, I know! How awful, you would think
that he would have tried something else. It reminded
me of a story that was told to me of a pawn shop located
in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Apparently there was
this guy that the police were after and he ducked into
this pawn shop and picked up a power saw and asked the
owner if it worked. The owner proceeded to plug it
in to show the guy that it worked and the fugitive grabbed
it and proceeded to cut his own throat with it rather than
go to jail.
