Four people were brave enough to enter the first ever Lizzie Borden Society Forum contest! There were David Lilly, Susan Magliaro, Kathy (katmgck), and Anet.

You all deserve a big congratulations and a bravo!

I said in my notice for the contest that sister Kat would be a judge but that turned out not to be the case. I had originally thought that I would need help in sorting through the 1000s of answers that members would submit. (I have really big dreams don't I?) That said, I was all that was necessary to read the entries and determine the winner.

The person with the most correct reponses was . . . drum roll please . . . . Susan Magliaro with 19! (sounds of crowd cheering inserted here)

Susan, your perty kitty stickers are on their way!

I found a total of 58 errors in this little article. With Susan's 19 correct responses, Katmgk's 9, Anet's 8, and David's 6, that totals 42 (there were some duplicates among the participants).

Do you want to have another contest for the remaining 16 errors or do you want me to just go ahead and list them all for you to read and/or debate? Please reply here and let me know. One way or the other, I will post a collection of correct responses here within a day so we won't repeat ourselves.

Congratulations to Susan!  I vote for Stefani's simply posting the remaining inaccuracies here.  Another point (not too fine a one, I hope):  I didn't look at the contest instructions carefully, but I did notice Susan posted her answers for everyone to read before the contest was over.  (What confidence!)  That gave other people an opportunity to list all her correct answers and then add some of their own.  If there are future contests, maybe it would be better to have the entries sent in an email and not posted until the contest is over.

Thank you all, it was fun!  Yes, I too vote for Stefani posting the rest of the wrong stuff for us all.  I have to wonder what that woman read to get so many things wrong, its frightening.

Actually they would have to know Susan was correct in order to borrow some of her answers...not that anyone did.

Therefore they would also have to know the answer.
(And I know Stef was impressed with the ingenuity of a poster to create a new Thread to post her answers).

I think it worked out fine AND got new people to post, AND old people to post and provided the confidence to do so.
I hope those who contributed continue with us and air their opinions or ask questions, now that they are officially here!
If that was a side-effect of the contest, I'd say  it was successful.
PS:  I think the rule was to provide the error and provide the answer?

"If somebody has already posted that error you cannot also post it. BUT, if they post the error and get the correction wrong, you can post the correct answer and get credit."

I think this covers the problem of a new contestant gleaning answers off a previous contestant.

I also think the mistakes with corrections should be posted, but I probably think that because I already tried to find the mistakes.

Congrats to all those who submitted an entry and to our very own Susan for being the Grand Prize Winner....hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray....

Of course if not for Stefani's devotion to whole matter we would not have had a contest in the first place...I say...hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray....

Now where the heck did I put that magnifying glass.........
