Bridget, Fall River, 1894!

Post by InterestedReader »

Here's a readable little piece, and within it a curious bit of information.

It's 1894 and the American press has all but fallen silent on the Borden case. But Fall River remains obsessed, according to this 'Letter from Fall River'. And towards the end it mentions how people become even more excited when Bridget Sullivan is 'in town'.

'The case refuses to die. If it isn't called up by the presence of Bridget Sullivan or Uncle Morse in town, some circumstance connected with it is subjected to a comparison by details of a new crime.'

So Bridget visits, would be the inference.
In 1894 she's neither fled like a loon, nor blithely settled in employ.
