2nd Street Original Fixtures

Post by trojanusc »

Have tried to find a list of what is original in the 2nd Street house. Obviously none of the furniture dates back to her era but I've read accounts that some of the window panes, locks, doors, etc are all from the Borden era. Does anyone have a better sense of what actually remains from Lizzie's day? Also anything that might look old but is actually set dressing (eg baseboards, door frames, etc). Thank you!

Your best bet might be to contact the Bed 'n Breakfast itself....I would think (or hope) they would have remodeling records.

I don't know if this helps, but I watched a tour of the Borden House (now bed & breakfast) on YT. They stated that the two windows in the sitting room are the only two remaining original windows in the house.

I believe she also said that all of the locks had been replaced.
