Hi!

For a couple years, I've used William Spencer's "Case Against Lizzie Borden" and Rebello as my non-primary source resources. I have read a number of the 'fictional' books (Lincoln, Radin, etc), but not another serious writeup on the case.

Do any of you recommend I purchase/read the Cara Robertson book, "Trial of Lizzie Borden"? Does it provide new information or a fresh perspective?

I recommend it. It reads much more like a novel (in a good way) than Spencer and Rebello, yet it's well-researched and factual.

I did get the book and enjoyed how Cara presented the actual trial by leaning into the observations of reporters Joe Howard and Julian Ralph. Really helped the trial 'come to life' for the reader.

For studying the details of the case itself, I think I'd choose Spencer's book, but Cara's book is a good read and glad I got it!
