Is Maplecroft snow wet snow?

It's comingggggg!

Two feet of snow is coming to New England.

It has already started as flurries.

What's my game plan, you ask?

We are doing it right now.....looking out the window.

Onsloe is the weather keeper for the day.

The huge storm for New England has been on the news all day. I'm glad I live in Wisconsin, although we got about 2 inches of new snow today. You and Stefani have been in my thoughts for the past couple of days. Please, be safe, and keep us updated when you can.

Love the picture of Onsloe the weather keeper!

Thanks Twins:

Yes funny. The news is trying to make the storm sound like ISIS is attacking. This is winter. This is snow, not sulfuric acid falling from the sky.

We live in a paranoid society. Everyone is in a constant state of fear. During the Boston Bombing they shut down the entire metropolis of Boston, the entire city, just to find one man. What a crock of cowards.

Now it's the boogie snow. A state of emergency. Really? What a joke.

I remember storms like this all the time when I was a kid.

Trying to find some real news.

All of it is about this silly storm.

My mind is about to explode.

Storm at Maplecroft. Photos taken about 10:00 pm Monday.

Taken with a speed of 3 seconds, tripod speed, but hand held. Difficult to do and get a clear shot.

Ten o'clock this morning Onsloe reports that the depth of the snow is hard to gauge since it has been blowing around. He says all is quite at Maplecroft.

Yes:

Onsloe says it doesn't look that bad. Probably 15 to 18 inches.

Brrrrrrr!

Onsloe says it's cold. Claims he's getting back under the sheets. Good day to stay in bed.

This is the best time to feed the birds, since they have no access to sustenance on a snow covered ground. Though the Cardinal keeps picking on the smaller birds.

Someone posted this on the net. It's Saint Patricks in the South End.

Meanwhile, I'm pretending it's just an inch or two.

The effects are misleading. Though there is about 18 to 20 inches, it looks much deeper in places since the wind has been really blowing the stuff around.

MB: Thank You for posting the above pictures for us! The aftermath of the snow storm is breathing-taking, but the owners of those cars are going to have some serious digging to do! The Cardinal is absolutely beautiful. However, my favorites are of Onsloe watching out the window; he is so adorable!!!

The Blizzard of 2015. Woopie!

No big deal.

The one we had last year was bigger, in that the snow was very heavy. Or was that the year before?

Here we go. Maplecroft the day after the storm. Just another snow storm.

When I pained my house I primed it once and painted it twice. It received 3 coats.

Maplecroft just got a cheap spray job this summer. If you look at the photo of Maplecroft above you can see how thin the paint is. Look at the second level, the front of the house. You can see that the paint is so thin that it has soaked into the wood and the wood is showing through.

He stood outside my building a couple of years ago as the business across the street was on fire. There was a crowd at the street. He didn't realize who he was talking to, but he was telling my tenant how he was a fire adjuster and how he had screwed the system.

I know, I know, I just don't stop. But it is the truth. It's the way the cat's whiskers curl.

You can see the paint job better in this picture.

The new owner will have to paint this house again, and soon.

Shame!

I was wondering about the paint job at Maplecroft!!! It looked very nice when it was first painted and Stefani posted the pictures on MondoLizzie, but the top half of the house appeared to be quite different in later pictures. So, the house was painted only as a selling tactic; Jeez!!!

YES, that is what I found wrong. The fact that he just doctored up the paint job just to sell the house. Sad...

As for the fire story..... I was standing near by when he told his little story to my friend, not realizing that I knew her.

I have others that are rumored or for which I was told by third parties, people who were related to the man, but I will not go into those. Even I have respect for the truth and will not repeat something I am not sure of.

The paint job is very sad; it is even sadder that the new owner is going to have to re-paint it!!!

The fire story just blows my mind!

I agree, MB, third party information is not a good thing to pass on!

Don't park in my spot! :!: :!:

Took me all day to shovel it out.

Take my spot at your own risk.

The Snow Crazy people are out there. Just an outlandish, quirky attribute to living in the inner city.

The last two photos are of fall river, small "f" small "r" for the.... well you know how it goes.

Good Lord; a man allegedly shot up two unoccupied cars for parking in spots that had been shoveled out by someone else??? That just blows me away! :shaking: Was the guy who was arrested for shooting up those cars, the one who actually dug out the spots or is he some crazy dude with a gun?

Hello, Franz.

I use to have two dogs.

Henty, my Scottie died a couple of years ago. She was a very bold, assertive and aggressive little dog. Very friendly for a Scottie. Many Scotties bite. But Henty loved people. I hope to get another Scottie this year.

I should have cleaned my gutters this winter. They are all clogged and this is what happens when you don't.

One of the biggest icicles I have ever seen. It must be a foot and a half in diameter and 12 feet long.... hanging off the gutter on the Davenport house.

Yeah, crazy, eh?

Yesterday I hit it with a long pole from the second floor window and it all came down.

Below is French Street during the storm.

You can see Maplecroft way off to the right.

It's a good thing you were on the second floor when that baby came down!!! That icicle was big enough to kill a person, or at least cause serious injuries.

Monday Feb. 23rd winter scene.

Across Maplecroft lawn.

Beautiful yet terrible. Alluring to the eye but chilling and painful to the body. The temperature is around 13F.

Just before darkness.

Our daughter and her husband work in Cambridge and live in Lexington in a huge Victorian they have renovated from first floor to attic. The first floor is rented out; they live on the second and third. Photos from their second floor windows are astounding...worse than anything I've ever experienced in Iowa. Our grandson is absolutely delighted with using the huge snow pile between house and garage like a luge run except without the luge. They cut the run deep into the snow so there's no way to fall off and then threw on a little water to ensure slipperiness. He climbs up the backside and then slides down and around and around. It's an engineering feat that has attracted kids throughout the neighborhood and their parents. Someone actually took a shovel and made steps and installed a rope for climbing to the top. :smiliecolors:

Snowing again. Now understand, I'm an old guy. Can't remember this much snow in such a short period of time, ever.

Today we are expecting another 6+ Day before yesterday it was 4 inches.

One of the shots below is of the John Brayton Jr. house, across the street from Maplecroft. Mr. Brayton Jr. is the fellow with the crowing bird of which Lizzie complained.

Well.........

Still snowing, but very little. Should be done by 7 tonight.

Most recent images of Maplecroft below.

Also, another photo of the bird feeder. You can see an extra inch or two from the photo in the post above.

Hmmm? :?: I think I need a new life here. It's New England. Unless you ski or like other outdoor activities, like shoveling, there isn't much to do outside in the Northeast.

I should just hang a Web Cam off the side of my house and be done with it.
