Old Fall River Photos Online

Post by Shelley »

There are a number of web sites with great photos and postcards of the city as it looked in its heyday. I just stumbled upon this one on rootsweb

Two other good sites, listed somewhere on the forum before is the Keeley Library collection at
http://www.sailsinc.org/Durfee/fallriver.htm
and Cinema Treasures which has all the great old theatres (most sadly gone now) at

http://cinematreasures.org/theater/2980/
where you can type in the name of the theatre. Most have photos. If you go in the Easton Teahouse on Maple & Highland Ave right next door to the historical society, the big crystal chandelier in the entry foyer once hung in the old Durfee Theatre (which was razed to make room for a bank).
