Yes, and I have a whole box of photographs of the Borden family in my shop (not to mention a box of books with freshly pencilled Lizzie signatures on the flyleaf).

This seller just flat out says it's Lizzie! At least on some of the previous "Lizzie" photos the seller hedged their comments.

At least no bids yet.

If this is Lizzie the question is Lizzie WHO???????

On the other hand, could this be a photo of Emma? She looks as I would picture Emma and the photographer is in New Bedford, close enough to Fairhaven. We'll never know!

She was acquitted!

I emailed the seller and asked:

Dear fineco,
Hi, I have been studying the Borden case for a while now and this picture doesn't look like any I have seen before of Miss Borden. Does a COA come with this photograph and how did you come by it ? It certainly appears to be from the era of the late 1800's. What are the dimensions?

Thank you,
theebmonique

I will let you all know if I get a response.

I know it is an old photo and may be fuzzy and unclear... But look at her skin! You are right-- she has beautiful hair.

Personally I always found Lizzie's do more of a don't....

A reply...finally

I sent a second email to the seller of that "Lizzie" picture yesterday...

Dear fineco,

Fineco, I don't know if you have had a chance to read my previous email yet, but what I want to know is will there be a COA with this picture ? How did you come by this picture. I have been studying this case for a bit of time now, and have not seen a picture like this before. I hope to hear from you soon

I finally got a response.......

Dear Tracy, Forgive my tardiness. I am nursing a fractured knee and am way behind in my life! I am selling a collection of historical images for a local customer. I am relying on his expertise in this field. The collection is monumental. Some of it will go to Sotheby's fall auction. My client is most interested in protecting himself and has requested that he remain anonymous in all dealings. Therefore, a COA could be provided, but it would essentially be from a person with no name. Hope this helps. Patricia

Like we all thought and like Stefani said, the best response to the seller's response is still...."yeah, right."

Tracy...

I have a tradition here of posting a picture which is in dispute of a person thought by an e-bay seller to be Lizzie Borden. I "fix" it after a consensus is reached and always use the hat.

I am shamefully sporting what currently appears to be
a mullet -- so I'm not going to say anything about Lizzie's curlets!

I think we should have a rule on this forum, "no
foreign words". (unless they are defined).
I know what you mean Kimberly, I am the same way, ugh I hate anyone touching me that I don't
love. I used to work with a gal who was always in
my face (in my space) and touching me, aaaagh!

Mon Dieu is a VERY common French expression that is used to express almost every emotion there is.

Usually suprise!

It was meant as a light hearted retort.....

MON DEW may be a VERY common expression but
for people who don't speak french, it is not. I still
have no idea what it means.
Funny Kimberly, My co-worker was going for a
pedicure and I gasped "you are going to let someone touch your feet"? ugh, I just don't go for
that stuff. I'll do my own feet thank you. I guess everyone is different.
