Twas 11 days before Christmas and at Audrey's Chateau, Thayne was being a total Athole!

** The following is a nearly verbatim transcript of the conversation that took place today after the mail arrived.

T- "Auds... (holds up an envelope) would you please tell me what this is?"

A- (looks).... "oh....... that.......... well.... ummmmm.........It's from Citibank"

T- "I know that..."

A- (interrupts) " I don't have to listen to these WILD accusations!" (hurries from room)

T- (shouting to the retreating form of A) "You know I would be a millionaire if it wasn't for shoes!"

I have spent years convincing that man that shoes have to be expensive to feel like you don't have any on.... He doesn't understand...

I bet some of you do!

Don't get me started on women and their shoes. . .

Emily's only four and already she has more shoes than I do. She even has a pair of Ruby Slippers, for gosh sake.

Oh, I know just what you mean, Audrey! I've splurged here and there, really can't afford it, but, once in awhile I come across a pair of drop dead shoes that I just must have. Whats really wonderful is that my fiance totally understands, it doesn't faze him at all that I try on and consider shoes that would break the bank!

Chris, I've seen so many little girls wearing those ruby slippers, they're very popular, especially paired with the Disney princess outfits. I see little ones dressed like that everywhere I go, so adorable. If you think its bad now, just wait until Emily is older and hits her true shoe potential.

Today I'm sending my check to Len Rebello. I've wanted his book for quite a while, but it took me some time to scrape up the cash. I can't wait to get my hands on that treasure trove of research.

Next big purchase: a subscription to The Hatchet.

Lynn,

A subscription to THE HATCHET is a VERY good thing ! You will love it !

Having a Rebello is something every serious Lizologist needs. Congrats on your purchase.

I am currently bidding on the Knowlton Papers offered on eBay...yes, I already have one, but I know someone else who was looking for a copy and I was afraid they wouldn't see it in time so, I put in a bid. Getting a copy at a good price is so rare.

I finally ordered Robello's book last night from the B&B website, I was in a trance like state when i did it, honestly..............I have been wanting to get it, but the price was too high, then I went back and forth through my mind, then my mind just shut down, and I entered my credit card numbers, damn you Lizzie!

I know what you mean about pulling the trigger on those expensive items, Scott. But you won't regret it! It truly is the Borden bible. And when there are no more copies for sale, you'll be so happy you bought it when you did.

It's a great book, I'm sure you both will love it and feel it's worth it's weight, and it IS heavy! I keep mine in the box, in the bubble wrap so it doesn't tear the cover...strange I know, maybe not after all look at where I am and how many others are here with me...do do do do...

If you girls are bidding, you might let people here know who you are and maybe they won't then bid against you, unknowingly?

I am the same here as there. theebmonique.
That's a good idea Kat...let forum members know if you want to bid on something...so we don't bid against each other.

That's a bit Idealistic isn't it? If I am bidding on
something on Ebay, it is because I WANT IT! I don't
care if it's my Mother I'm bidding against, all's fair
in Love and EBay! (oh God I'm going straight to Hell now huh?)

It can also accidently inflate the price.
Telling each other we are bidding can be done by PM, and negotiate?
(Maybe it's not even E-Bay legal?)

Mine hasn't come yet, but the check has to travel all the way across the US, then the book has to come all the way back.

But I am envious! I want my Rebello.

I sent my check directly to the author. The B&B will get some of my money later in the summer, I hope.

Len says he now has "Less than 100 left."
I laughed. It's the first time he's said less than a 100.
Until now, since Christmas, he's said around 100.

You guys are finally making him some well-deserved money!
