Knowlton Papers/Rebello/Proceedings

Today on Amazon.com there are at least two Rebello books, one going for $1500 and the other for $2000.

I suggest that they be boycotted. This is extremely high, and if we purchase it at one of those prices we are adding to this horrible price gouging. If they do not sell, the prices will probably go down.

There are at least 5 copies of "The Proceedings", ranging from $64 - $208.87.

And there is one 'The Knowlton Papers' - priced at $427.00. Again, if we don't buy these Lizzie books at these incredibly high prices, we can force the sellers to lower the price.

There may be more copies of these titles on there, as I pulled up over a thousand hits on my Lizzie Borden book search.

:study: Please give to the Edwin Porter gravestone fund.

The Proceedings book cost $50.00 new, so $64.00 is not bad.

When I checked about 3 years ago, the Bristol College still had the Proceedings in stock for $50.00 new.

Rebello for $2000.00 would be about 40 times the original price. :silly: :money:

Not this guy.

Wasn't Proceedings more like 29.99?
I used to get the list from the FRHS and type up their collections and prices and post that on our old Forum.

Edit here~
Ooo I found it, 2002:

PROCEEDINGS edited by Jules Ryckebusch - Essays by 28 presenters at the 1992 Lizzie Borden Conference held at Bristol Community College in Fall River. Hard cover, 1993, 373 pages, 6" x 9", bibliography. #722 $30.00

Maybe they raised the price later on

I paid $50.00 for my copy from the Bristol College in 2005.

I had an interesting conversation on the phone with Gabriela Adler, about Lizzie, while I was at it.

Yup, The Proceedings was $30 when it came out. For some reason the price was raised for you.

If you want to read about the last throes of The Proceedings, see my article in the LBQ, "In Pursuit of the Proceedings".
