This time there is what the seller is calling a "small broadside" containing "The Borden Alphabet." Quite interesting...the type used in printing it is very similar to the kind used in Porter's "Fall River Tragedy."
I've never seen this one before. I wonder what it will sell for?

This is a good find, Stuart! Wow - as of now they have 121 bids and have not yet met the reserve. (I wish they'd just print the reserve...)

I enjoyed reading it. Hope it's legit. The seller looks very honest. But I don't see anything that dates it to around 1892.

Has anyone read this before?

121 bids, and it is only up to $31.99??? That means that there is one person making all those bids, trying to reach the reserve....

Unless the bidder is increasing his/her bid by fifty cents every time, the reserve must be quite high...

As I have always mentioned.

On serious items---serious bidders bid at the end and most win.

The winning bidder put his second bid in and won the item for 200 dollars.

The first time he bid it was 156+ but he probably did not reach reserve, thus the second bid for 200.

The first bid was done with 3 minutes left in bidding-----

The second with 2 minutes left.

All the hoopla. All those silly bids.

I'm sure it was probably fun for some, so perhaps I shouldn't poo poo them.

Major bidders bid late---and they bid high.

Whether the broadside was worth it or not it was a little dear for me. I was not prepared to pay more than 50 dollars for it. Then again, paper is not my thing. Unless it's a signed letter by Lizzie.

As I said above, serious bidders bid with only seconds left as not to drive up the bids. They know what they want to pay and bid as high as they are willing to go. One time. Some have sniper software, which bids for them in the last second, giving other players no time to bid again.

If ebay was smart they would extend biding.

Extend it for a minute, sixty seconds after the last bid if the last bid was placed in the last minute of play. Anyone bidding in the last minute of play would extend the auction one more minute. This way, those who ae willing to bid higher, but did not have the time, could bid again. Bidding would go on until the last bid was left standing for sixty seconds. If someone were to bid in the last two or three second, bidding would extend for another sixty.

And in that respect, the seller would get the highest possible winnings.
