I found this over on a tennis web site. It's from Youtube and shows what women in the Victorian Era wore to play tennis in. The clothes are beautiful but of course, movement was nearly impossible. The corset was really rough on the body when playing. Hazel Wightman told a story of how she went into the women's locker room at Wimbledon and was shocked to see bloody corsets hanging up to dry. It was because when the women played and started to sweat the whalebone cut into their skin.
