Jeff Conaway, who played Bobby Wheeler, in the tv show "Taxi" died on May 27. He was 60 years old.

He had been a patient on Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab a couple years ago. When I saw him, I couldn't believe it was him. He had had a back injury and was in a lot of back pain. I think he was in a wheelchair, and his voice was very old and strange sounding. I felt pretty sorry for him.

Comedian Alan Sues died yesterday. I was particularly sorry to hear about this because I knew him slightly, as he used to live diagonally across the street from me. Nice guy.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Alan Seus. I remember him from "Laugh-In". He always broke me up. That's cool that you knew him, Constantine.

MJ's doctor, Murray, is not going to be safe in prison. Four years is an insult for what he did. If someone doesn't get him in prison, they'll get him when he gets out. MJ has too many fans, and odds are that at least one is crazy enough to do something.

I watched a lot of the trial, as much as I possibly could. (I love trials.) I agree with the jury, but not the paltry 4 years.

I’m afraid you may be right.

As patients we don’t expect health care professionals to be perfect, but we do expect them to be competent. Murray administered Propofol to Michael, who had already taken four other sedatives! He administered the Propofol in Michael’s private home, without monitoring or emergency resuscitation equipment readily available, and without a professional anesthesiologist on hand. Are these the actions of a competent physician? I think not. Murray had to have known that what he was doing was WRONG.

Here is Michael Jackson’s 2009 autopsy report: http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/image ... utopsy.pdf On page 50 is a summary of the positive toxicological findings. Note the four sedatives listed under heart blood. Lorazepam, Midazolam, Diazepam, and Nordiazepam are all in the Benzodiazepine family of drugs.

Here is an interesting article, which in part states:

Anesthesiologists report that Propofol is a safe drug when properly used, but also warn that the medication does not interact well with drugs from the benzodiazepine family. The combination so dramatically diminishes the ability to breathe, along with increasing the likelihood of heart failure, that one physician compared it to jumping up and down on thin ice. Mr. Jackson reportedly took a large dose of Lorazepam on the day he died.

http://www.everythingaddiction.com/addi ... addiction/

The underlining in above article is mine.

Those look like interesting links, twinsrwe, and thanks for posting them.

There are some celebrities that passed away this year that I don't remember hearing about:
Phoebe Snow,on April 26, in Edison, NJ, from complications of a brain hemorrhage she suffered in January 2010, age 60; Dobie Gray (who sang "Drift Away" in 1973) on Dec. 6 in Nashville from complications of cancer surgery at age 69; Michael Sarrazin, April 17, died at age 70 of cancer in Montreal, Canada. I guess Alan Sues was 85 and died while watching tv. There are a lot more that were less well-known.

I was sad to hear Richard Dawson died. I really liked him, especially when he hosted 'Family Feud'.

I didn't know Mike Wallace died! I was just watching the movie "A Face in the Crowd" with Andy Griffith (well, I wasn't WITH Andy Griffith ... ). I love that movie and finally bought a DVD of it. Anyway, Mike Wallace has a cameo appearance in it, and I was thinking gee, he's the only original one from "60 Minutes" still living. I guess it's true - "Life is not a dress rehearsal".

You feel so mortal when celebrities die.

It was awful about Robin Gibb, too. I guess his funeral is on June 8. It hasn't been released where yet. I wonder if it'll be in England. Or wherever Maurice and Andy Gibb are buried. California?

I did find out that, he died of a heart attack and was buried on Roanoke Island, Tuesday morning less than five hours after he died.

Actress Celeste Holm (All About Eve) died Sunday.

Thanks, C-- Missed that.

We've forgotten Ann Rutherford, who portrayed Scarlett O'Hara's youngest sister, Careen. The movie role was reduced to a small part, but, if you've read the book ...

SPOILER ALERT!!!

...

...

...

...

...

... then you know that Careen played a larger part, that she was secretly in love with one of the Tarleton twins, both of whom die at Gettysburg, and that she never overcomes her grief, to the point of becoming a nun.
A.R. also costarred as Andy Hardy's (Mickey Rooney's) "steady" girlfriend, Polly Benedict, in most of the Hardy pix.

Actually, I didn't know that Ann Rutherford had passed away.

Wow, she was 94 years old and one of the last living actors from the "Gone With The Wind' film along with Olivia de Havilland (Melanie Hamilton Wilkes) and Alicia Rhett (India Wilkes).

Something else I didn't know: Even though Ann quit acting for good in 1976, she was far from forgotten – director James Cameron approached her to come out of retirement to play the role of the elderly Rose in 1997′s Titanic. Rutherford, however, ultimately turned down the role (which then went to fellow 30s star Gloria Stuart).

Thanks for letting us know about Ann, DJ.
