MB, I know you don't usually post on things like death, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate your posting these celebrity deaths, Thank you.

Actually, Donna Douglas passed away on January 1, 2015. See my post dated Aug 12, 2015, regarding her death.

Please don’t feel bad about not noticing the year she passed away, MB, because after you posted the last entry, I spent some time doing research on Donna and actually had a couple of web sites ready to post here, before I noticed that I had already posted her death back in August!!! Jeeez! I guess we aren’t tuned into it being 2016, yet. Oh well, life goes on...

I'm certainty not going to let this small error stop me from posting celebrity deaths, and I hope it doesn't stop you either.

BTW, Max Baer Jr. is the last surviving cast member of The Beverly Hillbillies.

Thanks Twins for catching that one. I got the two January's mixed up. Now I remember poor old Donna had died a while back.

Don't know where I found the story, probably surfing the web where I fell off a wave.

MB, here is another one we missed.

George Edward Quigley 73, passed away on November 10, 2015.

George Quigley was a teacher in the Swansea School system and an ardent Lizzie Borden buff, who wrote an article in the 1995 Fall/Winter issue of the LBQ titled "Will the REAL Bridget Sullivan please stand up!".

Here is the article he wrote:

LBQ, Fall/Winter, Volume II, Number 4/5, Page 6: http://tinyurl.com/jl7ztw7

Continued on page 18: http://tinyurl.com/hvphcn8

Here is George Quigley’s obituary: http://tinyurl.com/jr9l7tl

George Quigley may not have been a celebrity, but I think since he was a Lizzie Borden Buff and wrote an article for the LBQ, then he should be mentioned here.

Wow, David Bowie was young! According to Wikipedia, he died two days after releasing the album Blackstar, on his 69th birthday (David was born on January, 8, 1947). He died from an unspecified form of cancer at his New York home.

Thanks Twins.

My fascination with graveyards started when I was a young man, well, a younger man–-and I visited a church (can't remember the name.) in Wales GB. Small Church dating back to the 14th century. The entire church yard was a graveyard. Not one inch of unburied ground. There were graves right up to the church foundation. The entire walkway, from the street to the church's front door, was paved with poor souls. Names and dates were carved into the stone walkway.
Once inside the isle was paved with graves. There were graves in the walls. (above ground crypts) There was also alters holding carved stone coffins with majestic statues proper on the lids. Graves were all over. Being young, artless, and naive, I was amazed. Fortunately, today I am not as naive, no longer young, and working on artless.   :-|

Alan Rickman died yesterday or this morning at 69 from cancer. I'm not familiar with a lot of his work except for Harry Potter's Snape and Die Hard: the first Christmas one (I forget what his name was there).

Geese!

How many more will die this year in the music world. And these are blokes in their sixties.

First it was David Bowie,

then Glenn Fry,

now I hear the drummer for Crosby, Nash, and Young, Dallas Taylor died at 66 yesterday.

And though I was familiar with some of the tunes by Mott the Hoople and Ian Hunter back in the early 70s, I can't remember the rest of the members in the band including the drummer, Dale Griffin, who died today.

Don McLean's arrest today for domestic violence seems like a stroke of luck for McLean, though despicable behavior, is not news about his death. (age 70)

From a guy who always coaches his friends to "not believe everything you hear. Investigate for yourself."

Heard Dallas Taylor died yesterday. Nope. It was a year ago yesterday.

You're welcome, Mystery. Here is some interesting information regarding his health issues and death:

In February 2013, Ali's brother, Rahman Ali, said Muhammad could no longer speak and could be dead within days. Ali's daughter, May May Ali, responded to the rumors, stating that she had talked to him on the phone the morning of February 3 and he was fine.
On December 20, 2014, Ali was hospitalized for a mild case of pneumonia. Ali was once again hospitalized on January 15, 2015, for a urinary tract infection after being found unresponsive at a guest house in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was released the next day.
Ali was hospitalized in Scottsdale in June 2016, with a respiratory illness. Though his condition was initially described as "fair", his condition worsened and he died the following day, aged 74. His death was attributed to septic shock.

http://tinyurl.com/c5ycdgg

Septic shock is a serious medical condition that occurs when sepsis, which is organ injury or damage in response to infection, leads to dangerously low blood pressure and abnormalities in cellular metabolism. The primary infection is most commonly by bacteria, but can also be by fungi, viruses, or parasites, and can be located in any part of the body, but most commonly in the lungs, brain, urinary tract, skin, or abdominal organs. It can cause multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (formerly known as multiple organ failure) and death. Its most common victims are children, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly, as their immune systems cannot deal with infection as effectively as those of healthy adults. Frequently, patients suffering from septic shock are cared for in intensive care units. The mortality rate from septic shock is approximately 25–50%.

You are late with this one, Twins! John Glenn's death that is.

But also, my number one 'rock and roller' died today. Greg Lake! Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. One of the greatest voices in progressive rock to ever pick up a guitar. He's best known for the lead singer on the song Lucky Man.

He had a tremendous booming voice. He wrote some of the most heartfelt and Passionate love songs of anyone in rock.

My favorite songwriter is Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues. Prolific writer and lyricist. Greg Lake comes in a strong second. More dynamic, spirited, and powerful. With songs such as Cest La Vie, one of the most beautiful love songs ever written, and Closer to believing, one of the most poetic songs ever written. (sung by Greg but lyrics by Peter Sinfield of King Crimson fame) Also sung: It hurts, Let me love you once, I don't know why I still love you, and of course, I believe in Father Christmas.

Gud, what a talent.

Here are some samples.

You are so right! John Glenn died December 8, 2016, at the age of 95; cause of death has not yet been announced. I’m glad you caught this one MB, because I didn’t know he had died.

It’s sad that Gregory Lake passed away yesterday, at the age of 69; cancer was the cause of his death. I have to say that I also liked his music, he was definitely a was a brilliant musician; I always thought he had such a hauntingly beautiful voice. Thanks for posting the YouTube videos.

Here are a couple more that both of us missed:

Ron Glass, the actor known best for his work on “Barney Miller” and “Firefly,” died Friday, Nov. 26, 2016, from respiratory failure, at the age of 71.

Michael Delligatti, who created McDonald's Big Mac sandwich, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at the age of 98. Cause of death unkown.

Yes Twins

Only Carl Palmer, drummer, from Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, is alive.

I remember back in the early 70s when I was 2 ???????? Or was it 22 ?????????

In any event, I was suppose to go to an ELP concert (not to be confused with an ELO concert) but I missed it. Later I heard about how great it was and how Keith Emerson was playing a baby grand piano, when suddenly it began to lift off the stage, 30 feet into the air. Then it began to flip end over end, with Keith strapped in and still playing piano. The faces of all the pot heads in the audience must have been priceless. (of course it was a stunt. Emerson was not really playing and from what I discovered later, the piano was just the frame with no inner works) Still, great stage show and theatrics.

Below is a youtube video of Keith Emerson and the flying piano. (Not to be confused with Lizzie Borden and the swinging axe)

Let's put this in perspective, if not shock.

There were three Gabor sisters, Zsa Zsa, Eva, and Magda.

Amongst the three sisters they had twenty husbands.

Actually, two of those husbands were the same person: George Sanders was married to both Zsa Zsa and Magda (at different times). (A little like Grover Cleveland being both the 22nd and 24th U.S. President.)
A man ... wants to give his wife ... the interest in a little homestead where her sister lives. How wicked to have found fault with it. How petty to have found fault with it. (Hosea Knowlton in his closing argument.)

Very interesting tidbits of information on the Gabor sisters, MB and Constance.

Here is my two cents worth: Out of those 20 marriages, only one child was produced; Zsa Zsa was the only Gabor sister to have had a child. Furthermore, according to a 1991 autobiography, One Lifetime Is Not Enough, Zsa Zsa claimed that her pregnancy resulted from rape by then-husband Conrad Hilton. Zsa Zsa’s daughter, Constance, died on January 5, 2015, at the age of 67, from a massive stroke. Zsa Zsa was never told about her daughter’s death.

Zsa Zsa suffered through a lot of health issues prior to her death:
In 2002, a car accident had left her partially paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair for mobility.
In 2005 and 2007, she suffered strokes.
In 2010, she fractured her hip and underwent a successful hip replacement.
In 2011, her right leg was amputated above the knee to save her life from an infection.
She had been on life support for five years, prior to her death.

Interesting Twins. Thanks for the sources. I can't leave sources since I make everything up.   just kidding :!:

She also had a lot of funny quotes, such as:

I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house.

Getting divorced just because you don't love a man is almost as silly as getting married just because you do.

One of my theories is that men love with their eyes; women love with their ears. (though I believe that has changed these days :-? )

How many husbands have I had? You mean apart from my own? (how bold)

AND FINALLY,

I don't remember anybody's name. How do you think the ``dahling'' thing got started? (a clever ploy that I should learn to employ)

MB, thank you for posting the notice for Carrie Fisher; it seems, to me, as though there is always a large number of people who pass away around the holidays.

I heard that Carrie Fisher had died, while I was at work today. According to wikipedia.org, she went into cardiac arrest while on a flight from London to Los Angeles, on December the 23rd. A passenger performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived. After being taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center by ambulance, she was placed on a ventilator. She died at 8:55am on the 27th; she was 60 years old.

Years not over yet.

Now it's Debbie Reynolds that has died.

One day after her daughter.

Debbie Reynolds’ death is sure a shocker. Apparently she died after a stroke that was brought on by the emotional stress, which was caused by her daughter Carrie's death the day before.

Yes Twins:

With all these so called 'Stars' parting life, I am teased into asking myself what 5 people in entertainment or music—or any other field— I would like to have lunch with. Like Lizzie Borden, it would not need to be someone I admired or held in high regard. Just someone I can learn from or perhaps help tickle our curiosity.

I would have to think about that.

One or two come up quickly. They would still need to be alive. Of course, those who have died are out of luck in meeting me since I am still alive.

Zsa Zsa Gabor died. She once said: "No rich man is ugly."
So what did she think about a poor man?

(P.S.: Or... probably she never thought about a poor man?)
"Mr. Morse, when you were told for the THIRD time that Abby and Andrew had been killed, why did you pronounce a "WHAT" to Mrs. Churchill? Why?"
