An old Bible

Post by Franz »

Found an old copy of Douay version Bible (published by P.J. Keneny & Sons, 1914), with an autographic dedication of the Bishop Martin John O'Connor (later archbishop), to Miss Wanda Persichetti, of Scranton.

Made a quick serch online...interesting.

Franz, I did an online search, but could not find the Bible you are referring to. I'm disappointed because I think it would be interesting to see this Bible. Would you please provide us with a link?

Ohhh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood.

It is so cool that you actually own this Bible! I wish we could see it.

I wonder why in our forum the pictures added first will NOT appear first.

That's the way it has always worked, Franz.

I always get confused when I post a series of photos, myself.

Franz, thank you for posting the pictures of this Bible. It appears to be in really good shape, for being over 100 years old!!! I think you have found yourself a wonderful treasure.

BTW. I love your paper weight; very nice!

Yes, the round blue floral object that is shown, in your photos, holding the pages of your Bible open. Isn't that a paper weight?

Ok, I understand. Thanks. I found it in a flea market. Some people collect them.

I have my grandmother's bible that was given to her as a present from her grandmother in England. There is a piece of paper attached to the inside, it reads "to millie, Best wishes for her life in the new world. From her grandmother. March 1912" I don't know what ship they came over on but it wasn't the titanic which is what I think of when I read the Date
What is a Picture, but the capture of a moment in time.
