Re: Laetitia Toureaux
Thanks Franz for sharing! I'm not sure what to say- don't want to upset anyone but here goes:
My thoughts while reading:
1) She took on the life of a spy- chances were someone was going to kill her
2) She kinda asked for it simply by being a spy
3) Even though they think it was an Italian who killed her, could it have been a mob boss?
4) I didn't catch it but did they ever interview who they suspected or did the suspect pay off the police?

Re: Laetitia Toureaux
This is the classic murder in the locked room mystery! Having watched too many movies I can see the killer clinging to the top, bottom, side of the car...moving from car to car and then jumping off...mixing in among the initial witnesses.
One thing every emergency medical professional will tell you: if someone is stabbed or impaled on something, LEAVE IT IN PLACE! Do not pull it out. Let ER or surgical personnel handle the removal. Even if it means bringing something peculiar along to the hospital...like the piece of iron fencing that a man fell onto.

Found this site page:
http://www.paris-unplugged.fr/1937-port ... -toureaux/
where was published a letter in French written by one who clamed to be the killer. His stroy is simple but convincing, IMO: a love affair murder: he followed the victim, entered in the wagon, stabbled her, quickly came out and went into a second class wagon.
Some mysterious cases have indeed nothing of mysterious, if we one day really know the truth.
