The original post on this thread has been removed. Opportunists need not apply. Instead we can talk about other things if you like......such as, who watches ID TV, with shows such as, Fear Thy Neighbor, Scorned: Love kills, Dateline on ID, and Vanity Fair Confidential, you know, m-u-r-d-e-r  :?:

Taking into account the members on this site who follow the Borden case, I would imagine such a TV show would be a big hit.

Yes twins, there is a lot of better things to talk about. Like this.

I was watching a program in ID TV today. I thought it was a simple story and should have not taken that long. Why did it take so long? Well.

It was constantly interrupted by commercials. Long commercials. One session had 11 commercials and lasted 4 minutes and 45 seconds. Almost 5 minutes of non stop commercials. Is it shameless or do they have us well trained or what.

How they have us so conditioned. Thus the reason why I go to the computer for much of my programing. Or I record anything I really want to watch so I can speed forward through the commercials.

Oh my goodness, 11 consecutive commercials that lasted almost 5 minutes, now that is ridicules! I know what you mean about long, multiple commercials. Is it any wonder that the average number of hours per day that people spend watching TV is decreasing? I realize that we need the commercials, but they really have taken over the viewing of TV shows and programs. I find it very frustrating;

The commercials I really despise are the ones from TurboTax. They should really ban those commercials, because they make the person who is using the product look stupid, as if they are idiots. These commercials are incredibly patronizing.

Please don’t :axeman: me!!! Click on the following links to see what I am talking about:

I know, I know, you can’t get away from multiple commercials, even when you are on the Lizzie Borden Society Forum!!!

Yes I know what you mean, Twins:

But if I am to be totally honest, when it comes to doing my taxes I am an idiot. Anything the includes numbers can easily stumble me. My girlfriend does them for me.

Yes, I've seen all the commercials above and have always found them so dumb.

For me the worst commercials by far are the cancer commercials. Especially the ones for cancer hospitals. They are heartless and cruel. Especially the one where the guy says: "I had a death sentence until I went to the Cancer Institute of America. Now they can't even find my cancer." Or: "I practically had a toe tag with a death sentence on it until I went to Cancer of America Hospital. Now I am cancer free."

How cruel is that? Advertising medical care is unscrupulous and unethical and should be ban.

And when they advertise that they have ground-breaking cancer health care, etc, etc. (All for profit. Big profit) And for those poor souls who's cancer has no cure, these commercials are insensitive, callous, and criminal.

I have to disagree with you, MB. Just because you are not good with numbers does not make you an idiot! You are a brilliant man, in so many other areas. I also have trouble with numbers, and I don’t see myself as being a idiot; I’m just not mathematically inclined. My husband is a tax preparer, so there really is no need for me to do my own taxes. I’d say we are both lucky to have people in our lives who are good at mathematics!

I agree, those cancer commercials should also be ban, not only for the people who’s cancer has no cure, but also for the people who can’t afford those facilities. The almighty buck can be so evil.

Now, there are commercials that tend to melt your heart, like these from Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/gm7gnfq and http://tinyurl.com/j4lt3wh Granted the young man with the little dog could have pick the little guy up and carried him, and it is dangerous to put a very small horse in a pasture with large horses, but I still think these are cute commercials.

I believe this guy is the same horse used in the Amazon commercials; he sure looks to be the same one.: http://tinyurl.com/zorn5o4

I have never seen those commercial before, and I watch a lot of TV. The pony is too much for my head. He is cute though... But he doesn't look real. Looks like something out of a little girl's fairy tale.

Though I hate commercials, if I have to watch one I would chose comedy. Silly works for me. And though I think that insurance companies were given to us by an evil empire, I like the Geico commercial with Tarzan. Especially the monkey nodding his head. And the last line, when Jane says: "You have to do that right in my ear?"
hilarious.
Geico has aired countless silly commercials.

Oh, and by the way. I did call Geico for car Insurance. They would have saved me 'zero'.

The things we talk about here on the forum, eh?

I’m not surprised that you haven’t seen these Amazon commercials before. The one featuring the little horse came out shortly before Christmas last year. It was probably a commercial made for quick holiday shopping, since I haven’t seen it now for a several months. It’s unfortunate that most of the cute commercials are usually short lived.

I also like the commercials that are comical. The Geico commercial featuring Tarzen is a really good one, but I am partial to the ones which have the little gecko in them. Love it’s accent!
