twinsrwe, do you think he survived, or not, to his skydiving?

According to the following article, Cooper jumped out of the plane into the stormy night, somewhere over the lower Cascade mountains: http://tinyurl.com/3h2torv

Here is a YouTube video of the Cascade mountains: http://tinyurl.com/jctjnw5

Taking into account the information within that article, and the contents of the video, I don’t see how he could have possibly survived.

Do you believe he survived?

I don't know.

But if he died, he died in a marvelous place.

Could it be a masked suicide?

Hummm, I don’t know Franz, I suppose anything is possible, but I tend to think Cooper’s motive was not to accomplish a masked suicide. His actions are not consistent with the actions of someone who is contemplating suicide.

1. Hijacking a Boeing 727 jet
2. Holding 36 passengers and six crew for ransom
3. Demanding $200,000 in $20 bills
4. Demanding four parachutes
5. Demanded that the plane fly below 10,000 feet, at the slowest airspeed possible without stalling
6. Jumped out of the Boeing 727 jet’s read door into a wooded area of the Cascade Mountains, with the $200,000 in a knapsack that was strapped to his body, and a parachute on his back,

His actions indicate, to me, that he was planning on a future life.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on the possibility that Cooper may have committed a masked suicide.

I think he planned out the robbery very well...his escape not so well...at least where he was going to land! I think he probably did die in the wilderness, if he did not get tangled in the trees and die in the parachute! I think years ago some of the money was found, but no body.

It is reported that it was a stormy night. Is it possible that he was killed by a lightning in the air? In the picture those banknotes seem to have some dark trace. Have they been partially burnt?

I have read that a woman claimed to be his niece. She was a little girl and one stormy night, there was a knock on her parents' door. It was Dan Cooper, her uncle. What happened that night is a mystery for sure. I think that he didn't plan his get away really well and thereby, had issues. I do remember someone found parts of his parachute and some of the money.
