33 1/3 long playing record, better know as an LP. When I was growing up we had a phonograph player that played 78 records. 78 being the rpm or speed the album revolves. 78s were called shellac records and were made of shellac which was bound with a macerated slate or other fine stone. If you slammed them on the ground they would break like a porcelain plate.

But of course most of us in the Rock era are familiar with the 33 LP as you have displayed or the smaller 45, or as we called them, jukebox wonders. (with the big hole in the middle)

It is almost guaranteed that Lizzie had a phonograph player, whether a disc or cylinder player. Most likely hand cranked like the one Mom had back in the 50s.

The Importance of Being Earnest (Ernest) was probably Wilde's most popular play. Still being made these days as we can see below in the British produced movie of 2002. In popular culture Oscar is best known for his only novel, that being The Picture of Dorian Grey. In addition to being a playwright his main body of work is in poetry and short stories.
