A book terribly...wild.

Post by Franz »

I found in a flea market this book titled: Pictorial history of the wild West; a true account of the bad men, desperadoes, rustlers, and outlaws of the old West--and the men who fought them to establish law and order. Marvelously illustrated by more than 300 hsitorical pictures and fac-simile of the newspapers' reports of the time. A book terribly...wild.

And thanks to it I made a great discovery: those criminals, men and women, were all so good-looking people, and more handsome than the governors who persecuted thme.

For those interested in the history of the old west (American west) and interested in a casual chronicle of cowboy days, I would recommend the 1970s Time Life publication of The Old West. The books are filled with illustrations, photographs, and engrossed in American Western culture.

There are 26 volumes in the series and the books can be had for between 50 and 100 dollars on eBay for the entire set. An outstanding deal. Excellent introduction into the "Old West."

Time Life has published other series on several topics including: The Seafarers, The Good Cook, The American Wilderness, and The Third Reich, etc., to name a few.
