Lizzie as the Model for Lillian Gish Silent Movie

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of April 28, 1933 had an article about "Nine Pine Street" a silent movie which used the Lizzie Borden case as a basis. The murderess in this case used a hot iron to beat her stepmom. Ugh. https://www.newspapers.com/image/599973 ... ian%2Bgish

Attaching it in two parts so read as one on top of the other.

Interesting newspaper article, Pasty. That article was published just, two months short of, 6 years after Lizbeth passed away. Guess there really is ‘no peace for the wicked’, or in Lizbeth's case the perceived wicked.

I believe Edmund Pearson wrote about this play.

Yes, Twins, seems Lizzie will never have total peace. That is until we solve the murders. Ha

It's not surprising to me that Pearson referred to that movie. I didn't remember that, but I have noticed that there's a lot I have forgotten. I read somewhere that he called all of his murderers "Tigers" if true I like it.

I think you are right about that, Patsy. It has been 128 years since the Andrew and Abby were murdered, and here we are still pointing our fingers in the direction of poor Lizzie as the alleged perpetrator.

I didn't know that about Pearson; interesting.
