Who saw something in the house?

Post by dalcanton »

Hello, it’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted (recovered from three back surgeries). It’s great to be back. I was hoping someone could refresh my memory. I recall reading somewhere that Adelaide Churchill stated she had seen something in the Borden house on the day of the murders, but she would never reveal what it was. Does anyone recall this tidbit? If I did remember this correctly, what possibly do you think she had seen? To me, it had to be something that implicated Lizzie - else why wouldn’t she talk about it? Thoughts?

Your recollection is correct.....but I don't recall off hand where this information was shared (I think it was newspaper article). I am flying today, but poster Inspector might be able to put his hands on the source.

I've always figured what she didn't want to discuss was something too 'gruesome' for a proper lady to describe.

Link to the thread that discusses the Churchill statement. Thread goes off in a different direction, but also contains the Nellie McHenry interview with Bridget.
You’ll have to draw your own conclusion about the validity of the Churchill statement.
We may never know, but certainly Mrs Churchill left 92 Second Street with a quickness.
