Does anyone watch Court TV? There is a trial on now about an elementary teacher who killed her husband with a hatchet she bought at home depot. She claims it was self defense from years of abuse from her husband. The woman axed him to death, then dragged his body to the garage where she stabbed him 21 times, then put the bodyin the back of his Ford Explorer!
I was watching the trial yesterday, and a fellow teacher at the school said he overheard her talking about poisoning her husband. Poison and the hatchet caught my attention.

• Prosecutors argued the Seamans got into a fight on Mother's Day, after which Nancy Seaman went to Home Depot and bought the hatchet.
  
  "She went out in driving rain," prosecutor Lisa Ortlieb said. "Why buy it on a rainy night on Mother's Day?"
  
  Prosecutors claimed later that evening, Seaman slammed an ax into her husband's skull more than a dozen times, then dragged his 180-pound body into the garage and stabbed him 21 times, severing his jugular vein and voice box.
  
  The next morning, she returned to her job as a fourth-grade teacher at Longacre Elementary School. On her way home, prosecutors contended, she stopped to buy a tarp, four bottles of bleach and latex gloves to clean up the mess. . . .
  
  "The hatchet was soaked in bleach," Ortlieb said. It was "in a plastic bag stuck under the back of the car seat."
  
  According to police officers who first arrived on the scene, Seaman told them, "It was an accident."
  
  . . . Prosecutors also entered into evidence a surveillance video from Home Depot showing Nancy Seaman walking into the store and stealing a hatchet after the murder occurred — identical to the one she bought earlier.
  
  Two days later, Seaman returned the stolen hatchet, using the receipt for the one she had purchased.
  
  The state alleged she stole the hatchet so she could erase the one she bought as a murder weapon from her credit card record.
  
  . . . When a battered woman does fight back, there often is "overkill," Walker said, because she fears the batterer is not really dead and will come after her.
  
  The defendant's former co-workers and family friends also testified they'd noticed bruises on the defendant.
  
  Seaman's younger son, Greg Seaman, corroborated his mother's story of prolonged abuse on the witness stand, adding his father had a short temper and drank heavily.
  
  He also told jurors about a down-payment Nancy Seaman put on a condo the month before the murder that she planned to move into after separating from her husband.
  
  His older brother, Jeff Seaman, however, did not support his brother's claims.
  
  Instead, he spoke of his father as a loving and caring man who was married to a "klutz" who often caused injury to herself.
  
  The couple raised their two sons in a $400,000 Tudor home in a gated community in Farmington Hills.

Hmm. Thinking about poisioning, and poisoning I think are 2 different behaviors. Probably the poisoning thoughts were like an idea of the easiest way, no muss no fuss.

I was wondering recently along the lines of muss & fuss, when we were talking about the parlour.
3 rooms in the Borden house were defiled by the bloody dead (I'm including the dining room where the bodies lay awaiting the funeral Saturday).
As a homeowner, wouldn't a prudent person try to accomplish a murder with the least amount of blood and gore? If Andrew had lain down in the parlour, maybe he'd have escaped the hatchet?
