I received a DVD on the Villisca murders over the weekend. It was pretty interesting and definitely creepy. There were were three major suspects and two of them divided the town quite sharply for many years. Has anyone else seen this documentary? It is about a very bizzarre axe murder of eight members of a household in the middle of the night in 1912. The Crime Library site has a good piece written on it.

From Amazon. It's called "Villisca-Living with a Mystery."
I really don't think I could stay there. It totally creeps me out. It has such an evil air to it.
I think Henry Moore did it.
I need to add something. I am going to watch it once more and then I am done with it. If anyone on this forum wants it let me know and I will be glad to give it and send it to you. Let me know.

We have the video and I tried watching but fell asleep in it twice!
I'll try again- I was just thinking about this recently, because we have a book as well-
Villisca-"The true account of the unsolved mass murder that stunned the nation." By Roy Marshall, 2003.
The book has a lot of characters! At least 23!

Yeah, some parts of it like the pig slopping and the town bonding scenes I could have done without. But the history of the various suspects I found interesting.
The DVD I have also showed an extra about the Borden murder too.
