At 4 PM today, TCM is featuring The Florodora Girl (1930), starring Marion Davies and featuring Nance O'Neil. Chances are TCM won't repeat this presentation for at least another year.
All together now - let me hear those high notes."Tell me me pretty maiden, are there any more at home like you . . . .?"

She had a very small part, Kat, but the picture as a whole was entertaining.
I know I posted the alert late, but I wasn't aware it was schedulewd until yesterday.
Nance had a long and brilliant stage career, but didn't get into films until she was 41 years old in 1915. She appeared in a total of fifteen films by 1919. At this point her film career came to an abrupt halt until 1929 when she appeared in His Glorius Night with John Gilbert. By this time she was fifty-seven years old and the juicy roles were now being filled by younger performers. Unfortunately, none of the films she made in her earlier appearances are available - we must be satisfied with the bit-parts of her later years. Her last picture, False Faces, was made in 1932 when she was fifty-eight years old.

Thanks to your alert, William, I managed to see it. Thanks!
Thought she was quite good as the mother especially in her scene with Davies. She looked very much like her later year photos.
She was only in 3 scenes. The first with her son. Then with Davies. Then briefly at the end. That was far more than she had in "Cimarron".
Loved those bathing suits!

I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect world
And fool enough to think that's what I'll find

Glad you enjoyed it, Harry - "campy," but fun.
TCM screened another Nance O'Neil picture last month (Transgression).I thought I had taped it, but turned off the VCR accidently - probably won't be on again for anothe year. I have ten of Nances's pictures on tape - about two-thirds of her films.
"Happy New Year."
