Thanks, everyone, for your birthday wishes.

It was my first day back in the office after a week off, and this afternoon I guided a walking tour in one of the historical parts of town. (It was ten years ago this weekend these walking tours were first begun, hence the scheduling of one on my birthday.) On the tour, I got to wear some new period costume accessories that my wife gave me this morning.

The homemade birthday cards from Emily were the best. I'll have to post a piece of her artwork sometime. While I was at work, the cake was baked and decorated with as many icing squiggles and candy sprinkles as you can imagine.

All in all a very nice day doing things I like to do with people I enjoy being with.
