Solomon Decision and the Lizzie Borden Lawsuit

Today on TheDay.com from Connecticut:

More than a century ago Lizzie Borden was accused of taking an ax and giving her mother 40 whacks (and her father 42), and now two Massachusetts businesses are battling over who gets to use the name of the former Sunday school teacher.

The owner of the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast in Fall River, where the 1892 slayings took place, has filed a federal lawsuit to prevent a new museum and gift shop in Salem from using Borden’s name.

We say: Take an ax and chop the name in two

Mondo Lizzie Borden, Episode 7: NOT Lizzie Borden

Being a collector of the weird and fabulous as it relates to the Borden case, I have files of these images saved during the past twenty years. And I would like to share them with you now. Laugh, gasp, chuckle, or rage, these photos were all on eBay. For a price. I used to write the sellers and let them know they didn’t have a Lizzie, but soon gave up on that practice. They didn’t care. Even though they were committing fraud by the sale of the image as a true Lizzie Borden. Oh well.
