Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft, More Changes Afoot
There are more changes afoot to Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft.
I am pleased to announce that the new owner has removed the statue from under the rhodadendran bush on the east side of the house.
The statue was not original to the house and was placed there by the last owner, Robert Dube.
Alas, people believed that it was Lizzie’s. It was not. And now it is no more. Another move in the right direction.
In ADDITION to this change, Lizzie’s wrought iron fence, separating her property from 328 French Street, a house she owned the year before she died, has been straightened!
The owner of 328 French graciously fixed the terrible slant by shoring up the fence a bit. The fence is still in need of restoration, but that is for another day. At least the fence doesn’t look drunk anymore!
