Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft, Painted as She First Saw It
Maplecroft, the home where Lizzie and Emma Borden moved to in 1893, following Lizzie’s acquittal for the murder of her father and stepmother in Fall River, MA, is looking quite sharp these days.
The painting scheme was carefully devised based on scientific analysis of the earliest paint on the building. What we see blossoming before our very eyes is the house as Lizzie saw it when she first visited the property.
