I think this was asked before?
I take it a Chat Room would be an instant messaging type of thing?
Personally, I don't know much about those.
I understand yong people like to instant message.

In my case tho, sometimes I take up to an hour researching and devising and constructing my posts, so for me, that kind of "chat" would not be something I'd be interested in. That's my opinion.

I like it just the way it is. I'm usually buried in the archives and don't come up for air until I hear the "ding" in my Outlook Express telling me there's a new message posted on this forum. When I do reply or post anything it does take me awhile. Speed is not my thing.
