I think the best thing about this piece is that it is so fair and balanced. There is no snark. No sideways glances at the ghosthunters or true crime enthusiasts. Everyone is welcomed.

I find it rare in reporting on the case when an even-handed approach is used. Case in point, the recent Smithsonian article that was not only judgmental but built on the conflicting personalities of those who are studying the case. Like, who cares?

Medeiros has done a really find job with a rather difficult subject (getting the facts right is half the stuggle).
