Borden Murder Re-enactment Set for August 4

Borden re-enactment, tour set
Fall River —Monday marks the 116th anniversary of the ax murders of Lizzie Borden’s father and stepmother, Andrew and Abby Borden, at 92 Second St.
Functioning now as the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, there will be tours of the Victorian house today and a re-enactment of the crime scene with the largest cast ever. Visitors will arrive on the scene just after the murders to find the bodies of Andrew and Abby still in the house. They will be joined by Dr. Seabury Bowen and undertaker James Winward.
Tours Monday and daily are every half-hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices are $12.50 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and college students with identification, and $5 for children 15 and under. For more information, call 508-675-7333.
The Fall River Historical Society, 451 Rock St., is also open for tours and features the world’s largest collection of Borden artifacts. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 14, and free for children under 6 with paid adult admission.
